Well a couple of software tips!

Why not, a lot of people are not aware of the requirement for the Adaptec ASPI file, when burning. Have seen many comments of failure related to that.

Plus for those interested in DVD burning:

Here is what I did: Backup of WaterWorld. {Test, on a Lite-ON 811S}
NOTE: the source DVD was 2 layer, the DVD-R was single layer.

1) DVDShrink
Then immediately used Shrink to Backup (Must do)

2) CopyToDVD
-Selected the Video_TS.ifo file

#1 Took 1.5 minutes
#2 Took 3 minutes

- Write the DVD, took 14 minutes =Total time was 18.5 minutes

WIN2K Pro/XP, lets not take a 3rd party ASPI hook, that won't use good code via it's usless software {MyDVD} PowerDVD is fine -Sonic needs to get a grip, though.

Cheers

Also

Newegg has some Riteks DVD's @ a very reasonable price -Just bought a 50 pack for $44 (Ritek DVD-R 4.7G 4X) I was impressed with the whole thing, course there are probably many people who don't care about DVD or backups -But that will change. Remember the 'Floppy' which moved to 'Zip', then to 'CD-R' and now it's possible to get almost 8g on a DVD!

Music lovers beware....That's some serious music file size, about a weeks worth of continous playing, or a cool movie or two backed up.

Cheers
