Does anyone use a RAM program?

I use FreeRAM XP Pro 1.40 It seems to work real well. It has an auto free up button. Tells you how much ram you have free and how much your using.
But what I'm wondering is, Is a program like this really needed?

I used to use Cacheman on Win98, but in XP it doesn't seem necessary. One thing I do remember is that if I told Cacheman to 'unload old DLL's' it would kill my multimedia functions on my keyboard, so I always unchecked that feature.

On a low Ram machine probably would be useful but with a Gig of Ram I don't really need it. I would expect that with 768 you'd be fine I never noticed any problems with 768 or 512.
