XP not installing Drives
I'm trying to put my second HDD on ide 2..with my zip drive as a secondary..Bios identifies it but when XP HOME starts up it will identify the drives but wont install the drivers. But both drives work fine. any clues..Bud

If I'm not mistaken, drivers for IDE devices are already part of the motherboard/chipset drivers. I've never seen a 'driver install' take place for an extra hard drive. I have two HDs and two CD devices in my main rig and FOUR HDs and two CD devices in my second rig.
If all is working well, then all is well.

OK...that wasn't clear in your initial post.
Are you sure you don't have the drives set to using an alternative or cable select configuration?
Also, if you start up in Safemode and go to the Device Manager, do you see these drives there....and only ONE of each? If there are multiple listings of the same device, remove all instances and then reboot.

So every time you boot BOTH HDD install?? What kind of motherboard do you have? Sounds like your jumpers on the drives are not set right, or could be the chipset drivers not installed correctly...
"I'm trying to put my second HDD on ide 2..with my zip drive as a secondary.."
So on IDE 2 you want the HDD as primary and the zip secondary? What is on the second spot of your primary IDE Channel? If open why not use that slot?
