The problem is that one of the services you've disabled needs to be enabled.

edit:

try setting windows management instrumentation for automatic, and windows management instrumentation driver extensions to manual. then, see if you get the same error.

I to always go to Black Vipers for services info which is one of my best sites for WinXP tweaking.. Anyway I'll try what U suggested to DL the DEFAULT services setup and see what happens.

What U've suggested has already been done prior to this thread. But unfortunately doesn’t help

PS. I also get an error but currently Im not sure what I must do to get to it that says that “WMI table is damaged and consider reinstalling WinXP” Which I certantly don’t want to cos I’ve WinXP working better than ever. I mean I get an 11.78 boot up time measured by BootVis.And everything running uber fast.

I fixed a problem. Here's how:

Quote:
Delete the files in the REPOSITORY folders
(..\system32\wbem\Repository\*)

(you may have to turn off the winmanagement service to do that)

'net stop winmgmt'

I kinda remember something about the repository being corrupted. If you delete it, it will be recreated when it is restarted.

I believe that cimv2 refers to the Compaq agents, so you may need to stop them too when deleting the files.
