I was wondering if anyone knows how to get windows back to opening web pages in maximized or the default stage? Im sure I have run into a java program that makes all my newly opened web pages start minimized.

pls try the following 1st and see if it fixed..
1st step,
close all IE, make a reg file by copying the below.. (between the lines - without the lines) and save it as a .reg file, import the .reg file into windows registry.. do not reboot/log off!
then open IE and adjust its window to the way you like it to be, close all IE windows.

;------------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
;FixIEwindow.reg - Fixs Most of IE Windows placement problems

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\]
"Window_Placement"=-

;------------------------------------

next, make a reg file from below and import it... and reboot!

;-----------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
;SaveSettingForWindowsXP.reg - allows your settings to be saved

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000

;-------------------------------------

there's more steps... if the prob is still pls reply!.

note- you may have to do above steps more than one time, XP (current version) seems to have prob with IE window placements. its all goes to explorer!

Don't worry overly much about whether a specific KB article exists for your version of Windows.
Standard practice is to grab whatever's available and apply the principles.
