is it a good idea to set the virtual memory to zero ? i copy'd down the settings before i chaged them. But i've notice a huge performance boost in the changes. everything i do on my pc is about 2-3 times faster. any advice is welcome
It's usually not a good idea to kill the pagefile, but I guess if your system doesn't suffer random crashes or slow to a halt I guess it's fine. I usually set mine at about 1x-2x my total ram. What version of windows you using?
how much ram? not that it really matters. sometime something will want that paging file & when it doe not get it..! try setting it at 100 min & max then defrag & see if there is any difference one way or the other. i am assuming you have more than 512 ram.
