In Windows XP, I have a 3,000+ file folder. At times (I could be scanning through the list, the folder could be minimized, it could be sitting unused, or whatever), the screen will suddenly go blank for a split second, "refresh" and the top file will highlight. If I was sorted by name, date, or whatever, it refreshes the same way... but always goes back to the top (as if I just opened the folder).
There is not a clear pattern to how often this happens.... sometimes it doesn't refresh for an hour, other times it happens in less than a minute. I can't see a tie-in to other activity on the computer (whether or not I'm doing [or completing] downloads, etc.).
I can't find any reference to other people having this problem. Any ideas?
