removing dual boot

If I had two hard drives and I installed winxp on both hard drives and then removed the 2nd hard drive, how do you get rid of the os selector when you first boot up?

Hi,

You need to edit boot.ini file. it cannot be done from msconfig. go to start-run-c:\boot.ini (type this) then remove the line whichever u want to remove, eiter first or second. that depends upon you.

Actually, it is possible to do it via MSConfig too. If there is no boot information on the second drive, either because you've removed the drive, or there is no longer boot info on it due to formating or what not, if you click the button that says "Check All Boot Paths" it will detect the paths to the operating systems listed in the boot.ini, and in this case since they'd be incorrect it will ask you if you want to delete those incorrect ones or not. After that it's just a matter of applying the changes.
