help with downgrading to XP
Right now I'm running Vista on my Sony VAIO VGN-CR25G/R and I'm thinking of downgrading to XP and was wondering is this possible? I'm not too good at this kind of stuff and I only have the Vista drivers, somewhere in my laptop, for it
![]() I don't really have a problem with vista but every now and then it lags and I just wanna try XP for a while. It would be awesome if you guys could guide me and tell me what drivers I need and if possible point me in the direction of where I can get them? |

Well you need to write down, I mean on paper. What device drivers you have, like what gfx chip is in use, sound, wlan and lan. Then get XP's media and start the installation and during install format the hard drive.

Call Sony support and check first.
They can advise what is possible. It may be that you will need to stremline HDD drivers into the XP installation disc. And as said you definetly need to write down and find your drivers first as not all are easily available. Also bear in mind that Sony utilities maynot work unless Sony tell you they will, ie: function keys, S keys, inbuilt camera may even stop working. |
