Hi all

I'm trying (desperately now..) to setup an XP boot on a Sony Vaio NR21Z

When I intially tried, XP could not recognise the SATA drive

I've downloaded the Intel drivers from:
Desktop Platforms RAID/AHCI Software - Intel® Matrix Storage Manager
and added them to a slipstreamed XP installation disk using nlite
That gets past the first problem, but then I get a message saying:

"Setup cannot find the end user licence agreement (eula)"

I cant find any way past this, not sure if it is a driver version problem, or if the 250gb drive is just too big for XP? Although have installed XP on a samsung r60+ which is a 250gb sata, but in IDE mode.
So...

- any ideas on driver versions I can check?
- any way to get the sony to go into ide mode (at least for no?) the bios is VERY limited and doesnt have any options for this (that I can find..)

Have you had any luck with this issue yet? I've the same laptop with the same issue. I need to get xp on the laptop for work but have had no luck. So far spent about 3 days trying every tutorial on the topic of slipstreaming SATA drivers that google gave me and the furthest I can get is passed the HD check and passed the EULA (via cd swapping mid installation) - but the current brick wall I'm facing when getting xp to format the drive before the actual installation starts, it usually just sticks at 0%, occasionally it's reached 20% and once 27% but that's it.

In terms of what's being formatted - it's the same 250GB SATA HD from the model you have, but I'm only trying to format about an 80GB partition of it. The partition was set up using DISKPART, run off the cmd from a backup Vaio back disk made from the backup partition.

Fingers crossed someone solves this one pretty damn soon

I am trying to achieve the same - downgrade NR21 to xp pro.

I have read the previous posts but I am not sure how to acces the drivers on emule,.

Sorry to be dumb, would be grateful if anyone can help.

Just copy and paste "ed2k://|file|Drivers%20Xp%20Pro%20Vaio%20NR21Z%20S%20por% 20Uly.rar|109132990|7964D2C9D7585AA96C98F773323AED CC|h=QSWEGK3RDEUYXMHAHZ55ZEYADKA2MWS5|/" to the transfers page on emule. Or try to search for it in emule using tje words vaio nr21z uly.

I was very dumb.
I have the application now and think I sorted out the probleme with the firewall and router.
I got a connection and found the right server with the compressed file.
The download started but after about 5Mb is now waiting - last time I looked it gave the wait as 7 days+, is this normal?
At that rate it's going to take about 5 weeks to get te file.
I read the docs about queuing etc, and I realise there are a lot of users, but is this normal.

please can any one enlist the drivers that are required for downgrading sony NR21z from vista to xp. i am not able to get it from emule because to my TCP says lowID.
i want try other way round
