System Specs

??? Partitions Inverted EMACHINES W3115

EMachines W3115 - Sempron 3100+ 1.8 GHz - 17" CRT
Manufacturer: eMachines
Part number: W3115

Specs: Processor: AMD Sempron 3100+ (1.8 GHz); RAM installed: 512 MB DDR SDRAM; Hard drive: 120 GB Standard; Display (projector) diagonal size: 17 in; OS provided: Microsoft Windows XP

This is my brothers PC and he somehow seemed to manage to screw up the OS.
He gave me the OS Disc to restore it to factory settings.
I did a full restore (Destructive), and after all was done. I noticed that C/ has free 1.39GB Total 4.06GB and D/ has Free 107 Total 107GB.

So, pretty much what happened is that C and D were inverted some how.
I'm not no Computer Geek and don't have an IQ of a Genius, so I'm pretty confused about now.

I've been able to do a full restore on a EMACHINES T5046 and I never had this problem.

I was thinking that maybe some one on here would be able to help me out with this one.

Thanks,

System Specs

Interesting...

When you started the restore, did it give you the any options? Maybe one that would have allowed you to specify the partition sizes? If so that may have been the problem.

I'm assuming that it DID install the OS on C:, and that D: is empty?

If so, you could just use something like Partition Magic to reduce the size of D:, and then expand C: into that space.

I could use a wee bit more info on what is on the system now.
