ComputerE is on a distinguished road

I can not change my desktop background.

I downloaded something from limewire and my computer seemed fine. (It all happened yesterday). I then shut down my computer and when I started it up the next morning my backgroud changed to something I didn't want. I go to the place where you go to change it and this is how it looks like.

The grayed areas it doesn't allow me to click anything. I tried searching images and setting it as my background it changes as soon as I turn it on the next time. I scanned my computer using McAfee 2003 I think and it didn't find it. It only found cookies. (keep in mind I havent shut dow my computer since then). I checked numerous forums, but I couldn't find what to do please I have no where else to go I need your help. I will try anything if it is reasonable. So I know this forum has some of the smartest so that is hwy I came here. So what should I do? What info do you need?

WHAT did you download and run?

Also, do you even update at least weekly your antivirus program? If the signatures and engine are from 2003, I don't know how many real viruses you can actualy catch. Not mentioning the bad quality of the antivirus program in general.

arg this would be easier if i could just go over there & do it.... or remote desktop

is the desktop the ONLY thing that changed? there's probably a program running so a hijackthis log would be good

there's also simple reg keys to enable/disable the desktop options but i suppose you may not be familiar with the registry

oh & what does 'customize desktop' have in there?? & if you see any mention of 'active desktop' somewhere, turn it off
