I need a way or software to get my Windows 2000 Pro serial Cd Key for reinstall.
Hi I was wondering if there was some type of software that can tell me my serial cd key for Windows 2000 Professional.
I lost my cd key code but I still have my Microsoft cd.
Is there a way to go into windows and find this out.
I am having some comfiguration problems with drivers and I need to reformat to a clean NTFS set up for my Win 2000 Pro installation.
If anyone can help me or inform me what is available please tell me, thank you.

Ok well I dont know if this is going to work or not as this program was made for XP, but im guessing as the kernel is based on the same code this might work.
Download and run this
if it doesnt work, let me know.

What I would suggest would be to look up one of the guides on slipstreaming (are they up to SP4 on 2k yet?) and make yourself a nice bootable CD-R installer with the latest service pack integrated into it. There's something you can do to one of the files on the CD to make it so that you don't even need to enter your CD key during the install (only works for 2000). I think they explain how to do it in the knowledge base somewhere.. I'll see if I can track down the article.

A bit late, but if you edit the file setupp.ini (or something like that) in the /i386 directory and change the "000" to "270" and make a new CD, it won't ask for serial. Also, I've used the program Belarc Advisor to find my Windows keys many times before (does not work on XP last time I checked).
