merlinxi is on a distinguished road

A problem with Outlook....

I have my optimum online e-mail setup through outlook. It has been working for months. Now when I go to send and receive I cannot receive the mail from the POP server it keeps erroring and timing out.

When I go to test the settings it works, so i don't understand what is going on...

I think we also need to know which version of Outlook is being used. I know I have issues in XP with Outlook 2000. Usually, however, it's just an error message when closing it.

it's depends on how things work, and yes, you and i and other may need quite a bit more info from the op before any solution can be available.

Mr cairo will become famous soon enough

wierd ... yesterday my Outlook 2003 stopped working but i was able to access my account online and send and recieve that way ( account is an NTL?Virgin one )

eventually figured out that a firewall update ( pc tools) had blocked the account reboot and sorted

only reason i mention it is i was getting the Unable to connect to POP3 error as well ..

on the off chance just try turning off the firewall
