Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!
I have a feeling that this is going to become a real problem on systems that were originally developed for VISTA. As such, many of the devices were not designed with XP in mind. So, the developers didn't bother making XP drivers.
Maybe if you can tell us why you decided to make the switch, we can go from there. It could well be that your only real option is to return to VISTA.

First up, welcome to the forums!
Well, here's something that might help you out:
Graphics - Nvidia GeForce Go 6150.
Sound - Conexant HD Audio.
Network - Wireless is Broadcom, wired is an integrated ethernet provided by the Nvidia chipset.
That particular laptop shares the same basic components that the Compaq Presario V6000Z CTO notebook does, and thankfully there are XP drivers for that one which should work just fine for yours. You can get all the necessary drivers right HERE, however some are older version. Where I was able to I have listed more recent drivers.
Specifically, here's what you want off that page:
Sound and modem:
- Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Driver
(install this first or else the others won't install, as well, as soon as you install this driver it will detect your audio and modem devices)
- Conexant High Definition Audio Driver
- HDAudio Softdata Fax Modem (also Conexant)
Network:
- Broadcom Wireless Lan Driver
(however, you may want to get the later driver off of THIS page instead)
- Nvidia nForce Chipset and Network Controller (for chipset driver and wired network driver)
Graphics:
- Nvidia Geforce Series Video Driver
You have 2 options here: 1) use the older driver on the page listed above, or 2) use a newer driver that has been modified to work with the Nvidia Go 6150 card which you can get on a site called Laptopvideo2Go right HERE. If you are going to be gaming, then the latter choice would be better, however download both just in case you can't get the modified driver working.
Let me know how that goes for you.

Well I decided to make the switch because at the school that I go to we use Cisco Clean Access agent. And vista wouldn't work, I took it to the tech guys and they couldn't get it running. So I decided to put xp on.
Well i've been trying to installl the drivers for the audio...
And when I run it an error pops up saying
" Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver. "
Under the device manager I have some
Yellow ?
Base system device
Base system device
Base system device
Coprocessor
Other PCI Bridge Device
PCI Device
SM Bus Controller
Video Controller(VGA Compatible)
Thanks for the help..
I'm going to try installing the graphics one now...
I got my wireless to work...but not the LAN it says it is always connected at 400mps..
Thanks

To clear up all those yellow device errors you need to install the nForce chipset driver first, and then work your way down from there. XP doesn't know what components you have on your motherboard, so you need to do that one first.
BTW, which XP are you installing? Does it come with Service Pack 2? If not, be sure to install SP2 prior to installing anything else, because some of the drivers require it to be installed beforehand.

I don't know, I think I have seen something like that on RTL 15 years ago.

Hate to be the one to shoot the dog, tap the keg and spoil a happy ending, but Comqrap scraped most of the non-Vista exclusive drivers from the site...can you say market manipulation?
Anyone care to share some drivers? I have a Presario V6420us with a fresh XP Pro sp2, I need the Broadcom Wireless, two mysterious Base System Devices and an Unknown. Any help would be appreciated.
I have the synaptic(disabled @ start-up), the nVidias, HD audio modem, Ricoh card reader, conexant audio(w/ a bunch of legacies?)

Allow me to edit: The drivers are back, apparently they were down the night I was looking...tried dozens of related/unrelated links and all XP drivers were coming up Not On Server. I was scared, have started downloading most common chipset and peripheral drivers to avoid any further problems. It is a matter of time and HOPEFULLY the computers will be running long after OEM's deem such drivers worthy of storage space/support.
