Direc X 9 file missing?

So I got bored and I typed "dxdiag" in my run menu and I get this message.

DirectX Files Tab: The file system.dll is missing! You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version.

What is causing that file to not be there? I have tried updating my version of DX9c but it says its already installed.

What version did you try to install? You can get the latest (7/10/2007) version here:

thats the version I downloaded. It says immediately "installation complete" upon running it.

Strange, the only two system.dll files I found in my system are .NET related. I tried to rename them and run dxdiag and it's working fine...

Yes, system.dll is only related to .NET Framework. So, have you installed any of the .NET Framework versions?
