Sad Can't Boot Up! Plz Help...

Hello people i really need your help...

I used to be able to boot up in Vista but not in XP now i cant boot up in either which is shit due to my files being on my Vista HDD. Every time i boot up it says...

When booting from XP HDD...
"boot from CD: "
"boot from CD: "
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

or

When booting from Vista HDD...
A disk read error occurred
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

I've tried repairing the boot files in XP with the XP disc but no success, and every time i try and re-install XP it copys the files onto the HDD but it can never get the the set up part . The only other thing i can think of is to get a new HDD and install XP on that then recover the files off my VISTA reformat both and install XP/VISTA back on to those... i really don't know...plz help

System Specs

Did you have a power outage or something that possibly caused HDD corruption?

It sounds like the drive may be messed up enough that your thought of getting another HDD and installing Windows fresh sounds like the least time-consuming effort to me.

Good luck!

GutterPunk will become famous soon enough

Have you tried with only 1 Hard Drive connected
Is your system a dual boot with dual HDD or a partitioned one?

If you have 2 drives, try booting to just one and see what happens.
