I know this thread is ancient but I use this site for updates. You can pick and choose what you want.

There are also some packs (eg. RyanVM) that can be integrated into a CD.

imo.. autopatcher works great..
BUT i recently come to the conclusion that the best way to patch windows XP is to set the Automatic updatest o Notify before downloading, then picking and choosing the updates you wish to download to install, let it download, then install them, reboot and repeat until all the updates have been completed. And additional things that you want, use autopatcher for. Countless machines i've used autopatcher on right from the start have produced WEIRD issues and errors, right down the windows Defender causing some major havoc and an pile of other crap happening resulting in windows becoming completely corrupt and unuseable.

True you can do that with Automatic Updates, but nothing is better than saving the Autopatcher XP files for future formats and just run them back to back =)
