Stuff thats safe to delete ... Fonts files etc

was going to try and clean up some space on the HD and wondered whats safe to delete and whats not , so i was hoping for some help

the OS is XP

i figure that the getting started with Xp tutorial files that comes up on a clean install would be safe to delete ( thing is where is that all located and is there an easy way to remove it all ?? )

also the SP2 installation files

*old files *bak files etc

any fonts that are sage to delete

any help would be appreciated on safe stuff to delete

Completely overlooked this post. Sorry.

For the kinds of things you're listing, though, it would make more sense to get a bigger HD. None of what you're listing really takes up a lot of HD space.

The things to look for are old saved game files, out-dated image files, things like that.

When I've wanted to clean up a HD I've always used the Search function and set it to find files over a certain size. Then, go through those files and select the ones that are easily recognized and either delete them or move them to a CD/DVD.

Also, make sure to clean up the WEB Browser Cache. There could be a few hundred MBs of junk in there.
