Add/remove programs problem
A while ago i installed Americas Army 2.6 for my PC. I played it and enjoyed it. Sometime later, I was offered the same game on a CD. I was curious to see if it had any extras on it so i installed it. It turned out to be ver2.3. So i tried to uninstall it and it said i have to uninstall the newer version first. I went to add/remove programs. And there were 2 entries for Americas Army. one was 1.90Gb and one was 1.96Gb. I guessed that the ver2.6 was the larger one so i uninstalled it. It went fine. Then, I tried uninstalling the other one, and it said I had to uninstall the newer version first, but i already did! I tried using CCleaner to clean up the registry, but it still doesn't work. Help plz.

When you go to the Add/Remove list again, I assume that the America's Army is listed twice, right?
I only have version 2.6 installed.
When I highlight the selection there's a new link that says, "Click here for support information."
Click on that to see if you can accomplish a Repair installation.
I'm kind of surprised you weren't prompted during the installation of an older version that you were doing so with a newer version already on the system. Surprised, but not shocked, that is.
Anyway, give the Repair a go and let us know if you continue to have problems.

okay, i was wrong, it was the smaller version i tried to uninstall that went sucessfully. It was 2.3 for the smaller version and 2.5 for the larger one. After I uninstalled the 2.3, there is only one entry in the add/remove programs menu. I don't know why it says it is ver2.5 because im pretty sure i patched it up to 2.6. The thing you told me to do just gives me a link to the u.s. army page and tells me the version number of the AA installed.

Do you have XFire or GameShadow? If so, run either of those and scan your games for updates. That should update your version to 2.6 for sure.

Where exactly are you seeing it say 2.5?

When I click on 'Click here for support information', it comes up with a window that says version: 2.5
What if I Just delete the whole Americas Army folder, and use CCleaner to clean the registry?

That's likely how I'd go about it at this point.
You can then also remove the Entry for it from the Uninstaller in CCleaner.

How many times have you run the CCleaner Issues app? Sometimes I have to run it 3 or 4 times when cleaning up something like this. One time won't usually do it as one run may create new obsolete entries. So, run it again until you get No Issues Found.

what you want to do is a complete cleanup of the registry of any refference to this game and start over... ccleaner does not do a very good job of cleaning the registry,as a matter of fact it sucks for this purpose....first you want to delete all folders related to americas army install.look in c drive and local setting under app data.make sure your pc is setup to NOT hide system files or hidden files.do that in your folder options of explorer.then you want to run regedit and delete any keys in local machine and current user tree.then ru regseeker or another registry cleaner that has a search option and search for anything related to americas army.also run the cleaner and see what it finds.DONT delete anything that you d arent sure needs to be deleted.this is something that takes a little time to learn where everything is in your registry and no time like the present.i spend alot of time in the registry of my system.i dont play this game so i am not sure where all the folders and files for this game are.
