Re: HDD temperatures?

I have no experience with the AMD chipsets but two general possibilities are that the interface driver or the interface being run in RAID mode(BIOS setting) could obfuscate the sensors from being detected.

Try also HWMonitor: CPUID

Re: HDD temperatures?

Thanks for thoughts, mkk!

HDDs run in AHCI mode, downloaded HWmonitor and it's not listing any HDD

Re: HDD temperatures?

Is SMART monitoring enabled in BIOS?

Re: HDD temperatures?

Yes, it is but WD diagnostic (DLGDiag) tells no s.m.a.r.t info available
WD-Green series can do SMART so far so good, sounds like a bios or driver issue then

bit funny

Re: HDD temperatures?

Okay, reading here:

AMD 700 chipset series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

...it sounds AMD has no SMART (AHCI) on any of the 7xx series chipsets.
This is a pretty shoddy attitude me thinks.

Re: HDD temperatures?

I think that this thread contains some relevant information: AMD Game Forums - AMD SB700 AHCI and RAID drivers

You could probably skip the first few posts and start from nanohead's.

Re: HDD temperatures?

nanoheads excuse is barely acceptable coz SMART was working just fine under AHCI on 939 socket mobos.

RaidXpert? - tried that, and is not reporting any hdd temperatures even it tells SMART is available.

Temperatures, for me, only report only under IDE mode and that's it
