At long last, new Nvidia drivers are out!
Nvidia has finally released a stable release Vista driver! I have tested 175.16 as stable with multiple applications, and it does not appear to have any of the compatibility problems that the last series of drivers had (older programs work fine). This appears to be what we've all been waiting far too long for.

Anyone else get a fatal error saying you are using a "32 bit uninstaller on a 64 bit system" when trying to update to the new geforce driver on Vista 64?
