Well these damn codec packs are pissing me off... well its more with the media streaming to the PS3. Its WMP11 that is causing these issues, not the PS3. Recently, my WMP11 stopped uPnP sharing. The only way to fix this was a god damn reformat and reinstall of windows. Although it broadcasts now on the network, lots of files will not play that were recoded by Redkawa PS3 Video9. Some are Xvid and others Divx. They play on WMP11, sometimes after reinstalling the codec packs they still want to act up. It feels like codec packs like Vista Codec Pack, CCCP and K-Lite does not want to register into windows fully. Here is a picture of how my music videos folder looks like.
I tired everything to get the thumbnails to register into windows including manual registry editing. In addition, basically the files with no thumbnails will not play on my ps3. So I am narrowing it down to Windows not recognizing them.
I do not want to use TVersity, it doesn't work. Nero MediaHome sucks as well as the folders don't show up properly. It is a problem with the codecs not register fully into Windows, not media streaming itself (all my videos worked fine in the past). In addition, firmware 2.20 hasn't messed up my mp4 files because I played the same files that did not stream on a burned DVD completely fine.
What to do??
