Windows Vista SP1 RC Refresh

Has anyone gotten the latest "Refresh" download for the Public Beta SP1?

Windows Vista SP1 RC1 Refresh

Just wondering if it fixes anything really important?

I've been waiting for the final release. I've heard it might be out as soon as next week.

It would be nice if it would come out next week since it means that I move to 64-bit Vista then.

Id wait for the final release....This Refreshed Version is a Pain in the ass to install....

It taken me 3 hours to install it,after the previous beta was removed my pc became quite sluggish in responding to any action.Several updates later the refreshed beta eventually shown up on windows update.

After all that time im sure it only contained the auto updates previous to the first beta.

Plus this has a 30 June time out installed..Hopefully the official release should be out before that time.

Should be soon. It was originally scheduled to be released with Windows Server 2008, which went RTM today, I'm not sure if they were referring to the RTM release, or the actual launch next month.

From MS a few days ago:

We are still on schedule to deliver SP1 RTM in Q1 CY08. The final release date is based on quality, so we will continue to track customer and partner feedback from the beta program before setting a final date.
I'm looking forward to this, I'm ordering another pair of hard drives for my PC, going to stick them in RAID, slipstream SP1 and reinstall everything when SP1 comes out.

I was originally waiting for the final but felt bored and self destructive so I figured I might as well give this version a try. However the installation failed about halfway through. I get the feeling that it's trying to tell me that I'd best prepare for a fresh installation of Vista when SP1 final is out. Btw, a reboot later (or was it two, which would make it even more wierd) I got this text in the corner of my desktop telling me that my Windows wasn't genunie even though nothing else seemed wrong and the activation was fine. A reboot later the message had vanished, leaving a lingering feeling of being scrutinized.
