can't uninstall SP1 RC, nor does it work properly
Well like any pre-release software its filled with bugs still. I have installed XP SP Betas in the past and had no issues. Well with Vista SP1 RC windows aero is disabled, control panel will not open along with a lot of important other tasks such as the display personalization menu, computer properties. I can't find a way to fix it, I did find a fix but it won't install as SP1 has it already. In addition, I initiated the uninstall on safe mode. It had to restart and continue. In normal mode it fails and takes a damn good amount of time, when I reboot back into safe mode after initiating the uninstall it works for about 4 hours, tell me it is uninstalled. When I go back to normal mode, it tries to uninstall again and fails. I cannot reinstall, uninstall this damn thing. Is there anyway to do an uninstal or fix these issues? Need help ASAP!

All I can say is Service Packs are NEVER meant to be un-installed and NEVER touch BETA software.

never have had issues with MS beta software (funny huh?). It's ok, well it screwed up more and I had to reformat. I was just wondering is there any way to resolve the control panel not opening and no aero and other stuff?

Wonder whats wrong with your vista? Mine works perfectly.... some minor issues in some circumstances, however SP1 is a definite improvement as far as OS responsiveness/speed goes.

bad service pack install imo... and obvious uninstall...
I would suspect that if you tried it again.. it would work... but i wouldn't recommend it.
I refuse to do service pack installs if i can help it.... i always slipstream the service packs and then do a fresh install.... as i find that install a service pack after installing windows usually gives me a bad experience overall...

Your problems didnt have anything to do with Cough WPA Cough lol
i got the same problems when i installed the RC service pack on my x64
Aero was disabled, My system rated 1.0 lol, couldnt get into mycomputer to update Rateing to 5.9, and couldnt for the life of me start up the control pannel
you would see it for a split second then it would vanish heh
good news is i went into safemode it was the only way i could access program uninstall as that wouldnt open in vista either after the rc install, i managed to access all functions though in safemode and uninstalled rc perfectly went back into vista and everything worked again heh..
