Windows Mail

Every time I restart my Vista Home Premium system it tells me that Windows Mail, (my only email client) is not the default email client. It asks if I want it to be the default. Each time I answer YES. But the settings are not changed. So the next time it again tells me it is not the default programme.
The same type of thing happens with my Office toolbar. I don't want it to appear. When I close it it asks if I want it to appear next time. I choose NO. Yet it appears again the next time I start up! Anyone any ideas why?

I have no direct experience of that kind but an excellent utility for managing autostarting programs is AutoRuns:
AutoRuns for Windows

I've not encountered this problem after three separate installations of Vista Home Premium 32-bit. But, I did find this particular Help Forum:

Windows Mail Default Associations - Vista Forums

Let us know if this helps or not.

Good luck!
