DVD Burning Troubles....no hair left to pull!
I've gone through a half dozen blank DVDs in the past few hours trying to burn a copy of a video I made a few years ago for my late step-dad's memorial service. My mom requested some copies as she's been telling some of her friends what a good job I did. So, she's passing a few out.
Anyway, the burning process that's been a snap under XP has become a nightmare under Vista 32-bit.
The Vista burning program generates an error either part way through the encoding process, OR it generates an error after it's already begun burning to the disk. AARRRGGHHHHH!!!
I've tried installing my OEM Nero....v.6 and Vista pops up a Known Compatibility issues window.
I've installed Roxio Creator 9 and it gets part way through the burn and generates an error.
I've started Vista's Movie Maker...which starts the encoder program that gets part way through the burning and generates an error.
Soooooo.....I finally just transfered the file to my XP machine and....in less than 10 minutes I had a good copy!!!
What's the best suggestion/s you have for making this work under Vista. This is my first really annoying problem with Vista in the first three weeks of using it.
Thanks!

In Vista, I use Nero 7 works just fine. But there is some other freeware apps that you could use to create disk image of the disk that is to be copied and then burn the image to disc using some freeware burning software that can do the job.

I've been using Nero 7 Lite, Dvd-decrypter, DVD Shrink and Imgburn without any problems in Vista, so I guess i can recommend those.
Also Infra recorder is a nice little free burning tool, if you dont want to spend money on Nero and works fine in Vista.

Nero 6 is broken in Vista and always has been that way ever since beta. Nero 7 or higher will work.
