Opinion: Avoid Spyware Doctor v5.0.0.145 w/ Vista
The first thing I do have after setting up hardware is installing protection on a new install. Well to make a long story short after two days of odd issues I've went back to v4.0.0.2621. If you value your browsing speed and w/ wish not to have weird issues w/ Firefox or IE even after disabling Defender. Please stick w/ version 4 until they work the bugs out. Too bad they don't have any way for you to reply to them on bugs, and issues.

Yup, the beta version for Vista has some serious issues. The most noticeable that it kills your bandwidth for some weird reason. Sucks too because all of my safety apps don't run or don't run at 100%. ZoneAlarm doesn't even have a beta, AVG works except for the firewall, and now SD doesn't work either! Damn you all for waiting for the last minute! lol

Hey dip are you using the wireless on your MB? BTW, the latest version of NOD32 works beautifully w/ Vista. dipstick is right it seems more like an alpha than a beta to me.

I've never used the wireless connection on it; just a single wired connect. Is it not working well with Vista? NOD32 is great but i like the all-in-one packages. Kaspersky has a fully functional Vista suite but after buying two in the last few months i'm not sure i want to buy another.

The wireless is working fine; when Windows Update see's the latest drivers available from Realtec then tries to install Vista freaks out.

That sucks but its a reminder of why we should disable auto updates. The latest WiFi drivers at Asus are dated 1/29 and they also finally released vista drivers for the remote if you use that at all
