Sad Clone Mode not working in 7.1 Vista Drivers

Hi, ever since moving to Vista I have a really annoying issue with the ATI Drivers. It seems I can no longer use clone mode to my tv the way I want to. That is, I can no longer run my monitor at 1280x1024 and my TV at 1024x768 and have the TV on pan mode. Instead Vista/ATI decide to limit my resolution to the minimum of both screens which is a painful 1024x768 on my 21’’ CRT Monitor.

There was a toggle option in the XP Control center but it’s completely missing from the Vista one. Is there any fix to this? Maybe a manual one? For now I’m running in extended desktop mode and it’s NOT working out for me at all

Any help would be appreciated.

Greetings and welcome to Driverheaven!

I'm going to move this thread to the appropriate "Vista" forum. Hopefully, you'll get a better and more accurate response from someone using Vista.

Good luck!

I use extended and I just move my movieplayer to the extended screen, but it's still not the same.

Yeah, it seriously annoying. Some players HAAATE being moved over and maximized on the other screen and decide to crash not to mention there's some noticeable lag when playing it this way. Only non lagging player so far is WMP Classic, but its so much effort just for simple video that it makes me irritated.

I wonder why ATI would chuck out such an important feature..........

Looks like the problem is still present in 7.2 drivers :/

I sure hope this isn't some retarded form of MS trying to prevent DRM/Blu-ray/HDDVD cracks or such.....
