Catalyst Control Center for Vista?

No smartgart for the Catalyst Control Center for Vista?

I need to be able to drop my agp8 from 8X to 4X. SmartGart is the only way I can do that being my bios has no options for setting the 8gp buss speed. Does anybody know if there is a way to lower the agp buss setting in Vista?.

I get a stable system up and running on my Roswell ati 9600 on XP by using ATI's SmartGart and lowering my buss speed from 8x to 4x.

I am pretty sure I could get Vista stable if I could just find a way to lower my agp buss settings in Vista to 4X.

You're right. Smartgart is not included in the VISTA version of CCC.

Have you checked online for updated drivers for your motherboard? I'm really surprised if there isn't some way to set AGP speed in the BIOS. You might have to turn off AUTO or something in order to get to a Manual setting.

Yup I checked, Its a soyo board and the last bios upgrade for the board was in dec 2004. Soyo has since gotten out of the MB business all together. The motherboard is the board in my sig. Ive searched for the agp buss speed setting and its just not there. Ive had this board for over 2 years so if it was there I would have found it by now.

I guess my only hope is that there will be a way to do it through software. It will be the only way I can get vista stable on this pc.
