After vista installs (5308 or even 5270) and I install the Catalyst drivers, after the reboot, it just gets stuck at startup and doesnt proceed further. I have to go back and start in the last known good config.

Something wrong with the drivers, or something wrong with vista in conflicting drivers...

any help ?

I installed the ati beta for 5270 on the 5308 and all seems to be working fine, without any control pannel though.
Try unistalling the driver and then proceed to intall it from device manager.
For my nforce 2 xp seems to be working fine , havent installed any game yep,
the only problem i`m having is if i install creative vista beta or the youp pax modded driver my explorer.exe tent to hang and freeze the computer, and when i try to shutdown it give the blue screen of death.
But it must be the audio driver cause when i unistall it works fine!
I got a radeon 9800 xt (bios hack modded).

I have the same problem mate... restarts just after startup.

Going to try and sort it tonight - otherwise just install previous cats
