Re: Vista on this PC?
As far as I'm aware the last Vista drivers for that 1950 Pro AGP was Catalyst 9.3. I haven't tried it personally, but you could try the ones off AMDs site.

Re: Vista on this PC?
alot of times if you install drivers, higher than the supported ones, that happens.....
also since your card is an AGP card, you may need to find some of the AGP Hotfix drivers for your card

Re: Vista on this PC?
The hotfixes are only for HD2000 and newer AGP cards, older ones work with the official Catalysts as far as I understand (and as far as my experience with my 9800Pro says).
I'm not sure if your problem wasn't related to the fact that Nvidia hadn't released any drivers for nForce 3 for Windows Vista (at least that's what their drivers download page says).

Re: Vista on this PC?
I know that the AGP version is supported, but I can't remember how far back you'd have to go in order to get that. I know that Catalyst 7.1 works as those were the ones generally supplied on the CD that came with the card, and then later 8.5 or 8.11... can't remember which.
Re-reading the first post something just jumped out at me. I do remember there being an issue with nforce3 chipsets when trying to get the AGP version of some cards to work. Can't recall the details, but I'll see if I can find the article. Edit: found it. Edit 2: until the admins merge the two threads I'll just refer to the OTHER ONE as it's got a bit of relevant information that I found. Last edited by Tipstaff; Jun 22, 2009 at 12:51 PM. |

Re: Vista on this PC?
Hi Rynio,
Justy letting you know that the X1950 support has been dropped from Catalyst 9.4 so you best bet is 9.3. cause_of_chaos
