Radeon X700 Hardware Video Acceleration Disabled in Vista 32bit

The Hardware Video Acceleration is Disabled for my Ati Radeon X700. I tried enabling it in the Troubleshoot section of the Display section but the change settings button there is disabled and it say " Your current display drivers does not allow changes to be made to hardware acceleration settings. Can somebody please help me with this problem.

In Vista, the Hardware Acceleration is ON by default. The only way to Disable it is through Disabling the AERO interface.

Now, if you're seeing that acceleration is OFF somewhere else, let us know.

Is this related to the "Washed Out Video" thread you posted?

thank you replying, yes its related to that thread. I tried changing the colors controls in the video section of CCC but it has no effect on the video so it means the windows is not using the overlay mode/direct video to play videos. Is there any way to fix that.
