ATI X2300 with vista question.

Hello,

I just bought i new laptop which was meant as an upgrade from my old one, the problem is that the graphics card is a x2300 which the website said was good for gaming, i now know this is not true. the card it self looks good and you would expect it to preform well but it doesnt, i have read alot of sites and a few of them say it because of vista! i wanted to know if it was worth my while uninstalling vista and getting xp on the new laptop?

the game i want to play is just a simple one world of warcraft. this new laptop does this at a horrible 10fps very jumpy on low graphics and around 8fp very jumpy on high graphics which i find wierd.... while the old one played at 40fps with low graphics and 20fps with high both not jumpy one bit.

new laptop spec:

T2450 2ghz Dual core CPU
2GB DDR2
vista 32bit
ATI Radeon X2300 7.7 catalyst driver currently running

old Laptop spec:

PM 1.73ghz
1.5gb DDR2
XP SP2
Nvidia geforce go 6200

As i saw it the new one should have played wow better, but it doesnt. have i just wasted 600quid or is/will there be a driver that helps my problem with the new laptop?

OK UPDATE:::: Figured it out ppl, plays fine now, didnt check that Vista had the gfx card set to max battery life, simply changed it so that it was max preformance for the gfx card and all is fine, same fps as old laptop and the jumpy screen has completly gone. all happy now
