Which is the more stable driver?

Anyone have any advice on which driver for Vista is the more stable of the bunch from 7.1 trough to 7.6. One of them has to work to some extent. At the moment I'm using the ones that install with vista.

By your lack of replys I would say that none of them are stable and the only true option is to become a Nvidia fanboy.

And what, pray, shall I put as the search parameter? 'None crappy driver that don't crash'

I've tried them all except 7.6 and not one of them is reliable. Everything from full system lockup's when exiting games to driver recovery, to screen corruption and BSOD's.

Only reason I haven't tried 7.6 and have no intention of is because 7.5 took out my Vista install completely. I'm also reluctant to install 7.6 because its a strong possibility the bug has been brought over from 7.5. They seem to be good at having the same bug in several releases one after another.

System Specs

There is not a single driver ive skipped (update the day they are released) and weather i used my X1800, XP, Vista or my HD2900 the drivers have been 100% stable.

As you are using Vista, you want to use the latest possible driver as drivers for Vista are improving alot all the time.

Yes, I agree to that somewhat but its all very well and saying that. Right now most of the problems are not improving, thats just the problem.
What has shattered my confidence with ATI in Vista is the 7.5 set rendered my Vista install completely useless, regarding from... http://www.driverheaven.net/1061275-post35.html
http://www.driverheaven.net/1062012-post37.html
and because of that theres no notes marked up stating that this was resolved in the release notes.

It has been marked up in ATI's support ticket area as resolved, but also as many have also reported their bugs were also marked up as resolved. Then when they installed the new release(s) the same problems were still there. I'm staying away from Vista for a good 2 - 4 months until this has all passed. Their drivers just seem so unreliable for Vista in my view currently. You don't know what they could predict for the next bug.

Personally, I've had good success with the 7.1,7.2 7.4 and 7.5s.
7.3 caused the BSOD on boot and
7.6 is killing all my games on launch or during play

All the drivers work fine under XP. I'm using Vista64 and a X1900XTX
