Since i switched to 64 bit Vista a couple of weeks ago HL2 occasionally stuttered,a little like it did when it was first released when i was using the 177.79 Betas.
So far (only tried this set for ten mins or so) so far the stuttering has reduced quite a considerable amount. So far so good drivers but i do need more time to try them out.. Warmonger's effects look good. |

played around with the PhysX demos...most of them are nothing really jawdropping or spectacular...nice demos though...there are 2 benchmark utilities (Nurien and MKZ) which were interesting...my 8800GT gets a 43 FPS average in Nurien and 56 FPS average in MKZ, which is pretty good considering it is not the latest high end card out
the Warmonger demo/game does the best job of showing of PhysX capabilities in real world gameplay form...pretty nice stuff...the possibilities of using PhsyX in games has great potential...nice job by Nvidia backporting it into older 8000+ series cards

I have one issue with these drivers. In the "Manage 3D Settings" section of the Nvidia Control Panel it now only lists UT3 as being installed. This means that all of my other games are using the "Global Settings". Also when I try to add some of my games, it won't allow me to do so...
I can't help but think that these drivers were rushed as best. My guess is they were intended to be a counter-point to ATI's release of the 4870X2.

Cannyone,
Try using nHancer. It goes a lot farther with managing 3D settings for games & apps.
