ATI Color Control - custom color profile

Hello,
I bought a Spyder color calibration tool, great and very usefull. Now I have a custom color profile for my monitor.
The problem is the following : each time I launch a game, my custom profile is swapped and the color are set to default.
----- HERE's THE ANSWER :
After several days searching for an answer, here it is : use Powerstrip to manage your colour settings !
Powerstrip will enforce the colour settings even in games. As you know, custom color profile will load data into the Color Lookup Table of your Graphic Card, but the ATI driver will erase everything to default when you launch game : your custom profile is lost.
Powerstrip is able to enforce this, and because Powerstrip work at driver level, if the ATI Color Control erase the data, Powerstrip will set them back automatically without warning the ATI Driver, so you can keep your colour profile all the time, even in games.
Note : to import a custom ICC/ICM into Powerstrip, just capture your LUT after it has been properly loaded.
Now I have binded some profiles with Powerstrip on my keyboard (with different gamma levels), and I can have fun changing the profile for different games (works inside the game) and for my desktop.
So Powerstrip is THE answer for colour managing with ATI driver. It cost some money (20 euros) but it worth it, no problems.

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

I think that the some games will over write that by themselves. They usually have their own color adjustment options in the game setup.

No, I think this is a feature offered by the Driver in fullscreen mode.

Because if I launch my games in Windowed mode the Color Lookup Table of the video card isnt overwritten and I can play with my custom color profile, but if I modify any gamma setting in the game, it will instantly activate the ATI Color Control, reset the Color Lookup Table (set linear value for Gamma, wich I can see from a GC LUT capture utility) and then allow the game to do modification.

My idea would be to never allow the game to do so, meaning the driver should ignore any attempt or disable the feature, then keep safe my loaded custom profile, even in Fullscreen mode.

FCTurtle, you confused me. Does PowerStrip load the monitor calibration profile when playing the game fullscreen or windowed only?

Also, do you think this method still works with the majority of games? Do you like the look of the games better on your wide gamut monitor when using this PowerStrip solution? Thanks.
