Welcome to DriverHeaven. I've close your other thread to keep discussion in one place.

Judging by your other thread, I'm assuming you're talking about an x1300 Pro.

You're not the only one with this problem. Check out this thread Vista and 7.3 Display driver atikmdag stopped responding error

ONly other thing I would imagine could be overheating. Check your temps using ATITool

For checking the temp of your videocard, download and intall Rivatuner.

For uninstalling the older drivers you can use driver cleaner or driver sweeper* (use one of the mentioned tools in Windows Safe mode) after uninstalling the driver via the normal procedure, i.e. via "add/remove software".

Also the mentioned problems you are having now may be caused by an underpowered/bad quality power supply unit. What psu are you using now (what brand, wattage, amperage - how many ampere on the 12V rail)? I guess Dell uses a 285 - 305 watts psu for their computers.

And for ATI catalyst drivers with CCC you need the Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 to let the Control Center and ati tray function correctly.

Good luck!

All you need is the "Catalyst Software Suite (32 bit) English Only" to be downloaded.

If it's not there then it isn't installed at all. So next step is to install the new drivers.

I've never been able to figure out rivatuner myself, if Catalyst doesn't have an Overdrive section (which is used for overclocking, it gives you a temperature readout) you can download and install PC Wizard which gives you a GPU temp

Just a question about PC Wizard, if it's called PC wizard, why is the image of a mac? lol.
