rolleyes atiumdag.dill hash error in logs

New install of Vista Ultimate (had to do this due to a hard drive crash) on 12th December.

Went to update to Cat 8.1. over the top. PC refused to boot up. Had to restore PC using a complete PC back-up in Vista.

I tried again after I had restored the PC and the PC wouldn't reboot when I got to the end part of installing the Cat 8.1's where it says click here to restart, it said I had to reboot manually. But after 3 attempts, the drivers just wouldn't install.

So, I decided to uninstall first. This worked and was able to install 8.1 correctly.

However, event log shows up a problem everytime I run Windows Media Player.

Code:

I also get:

I uninstalled drivers again. Mainually removed all atixxxx files in System32 folder (with UAC off and in safe mode) and reinstalled 8.1 drivers.

In fact, I tried 7.11 and 7.12 and I still get this error in the logs.

However, it doesn't seem to affect anything. I can view all types of movies from files or on the web. All 3D stuff works fine. But, I just get these 4 event errors (2 of each).

Any ideas why this is and how I can prevent it showing up?

As usual, clicking on the Microsoft help link is next to useless.

OK folks. No need to answer this one. I've splashed out on a new system.
