Driver Update Issues
Well, I play the online game Second Life on my other computer (Which uses XP and uses an nvidea graphics card), and the computer I'm having trouble with is a Dell Inspiron 6400 with an AtiMobility Radeon X1400. It appears on the website that the driver I'm using is compatible, but whenever I start up Second Life, it says it crashed, everytime. Also, when I go to the mod tool url (I think its http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool), it shows...I think two advertisments, one, then another below it, and instead of whatever is supposed to be there--probably the download for it--its just white, with no ability to scroll. Its almost like the page was cut off. Is it supposed to be like this?

Welcome to DriverHeaven!
I just checked the page you linked to and it appears to be fine.

Hi!
No it's not supposed to be like that. I alerted Craig and he is now on it.

Hm...It worked a few minutes ago, and I followed the first 2 steps, I think. I rebooted like it said, but once I got back I couldn't access it again. I'll keep trying, but this is kinda weird.

Update: I downloaded the mod tool and drivers, but I'm stuck on step 5. I let it extract to c:\ATI\SUPPORT, but when I try to find it to mod it, its like it doesn't exist.
Edit: I should go to sleep soon, so I won't be replying ASAP. :P

if you have the CAT 7.12 the path should be this : C:\ATI\SUPPORT\7-12_vista32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_55816

Yeah, I had the path set to C:\ATI\SUPPORT\7-12_vista32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_55816 , but when I browse for it with the mod tool, its non-existent.
Edit: I've been looking in the program files instead of just C:\. So...how long does the mod usually take?

Yeah, it has everything. I'm just completely clueless. What bugs me a bit is that when I open the mod tool, it says 'Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.' Then below, it says 'Could not find file C:\Users\[Usename]\Desktop\Settings.xml' I have the mod tool set to my desktop, but I'm not sure why it does that.

Hmm... you really should have it in a separate folder and run it as admin. Since UAC is know for causing issues on some software under vista.

So you mean to put the mod tool in a different folder, so I don't get the error?

Well you still might get the error... but less stuff on desktop ... anyway try to run the mod tool as admin.
[EDIT] and look what folders you see in C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ before you run the mod tool so you can be sure that the drivers are extracted there.
