7950gt Vista Problems

If this thread's in the wrong place, just send it to wherever it's supposed to be

Anyways. Here my story.

I've re-installed Vista recently since I thought the issues would've been solved with all the new drivers from Nvidia.

I have some major problems with my 7950gt @ Vista playing games. Everytime I try to change resolution the screen turn black and after a few seconds there's just thick lines all over the screen. I can't see the menus or anything in the games. Changing the resolution in Vista ain't a problem though.

I tried the MS support the first time I encountered this problem, but didn't get a clean answer there, hence trying here. I've tried with Two Worlds, Civilization 4, Heroes IV. The list continues. Even when I uninstall/install the games again the problem persist.

The thing is that the FIRST time I install the game on Vista I can see everything perfectly as it's supposed to be, but when the res changes the game screen turns into what I wrote a few lines up.

I hope I'm not all that unclear, I'll answer questions as we go.

Specs:

e6400 c2d
2gb 5400
Gainward Geforce 7950gt
MSI powerup platinum ed. (975x)
sony xdk-95 something, something 19" tft.

thx in advance
