??? Help Needed ( Vista and MSI products )

Hi folks,
ok i've got a MSI K9N Ultra, running a MSI 8800GTS 320mb OC
AMD tm 64 x2 Dual Core 4200+

I bought and installed Vista yesterday. Now the computer is telling me its not recognizing the PCI driver.

There seems to be sound problems, as well as graphic card issues as well.

E.g.
When on desktop> right click> personalize> Display Settings> VGA Information.
Under
The AGP/PCIE information.
I use to be able to click PCIE 16X

Now i can't click anything there at all.

Display Settings> VGA Clock

Core Clock 2D Clock 575mhz
Core Clock 3D Clock 0

Memory Clock
2D 1700mhz
3D 0mhz

Is there anyone who knows whats going on? I've tried to go to MSI and download the VISTA 32bit driver for my graphic card but upon installation, it says my computer is not running vista?? Thats the craziest **** i've seen.

1 example was when i tried playing sims2, the "shadows" and "smooth edges" options were greyed out and couldnt even be adjusted.

Please help guys. Really need some guidence here.
many thanks

SC

Hi there and welcome to DH!

So you have latest nVidias drivers for that gpu installed, get them from nvidia's site. And sound drivers from realtek....

[EDIT] Link for nvidias gpu drivers : http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_100.65.html

skip 100.65 and go straight to 101.70beta, some decent bug fixes and the New version of Sedona (the old one sucked)

also install the Nforce chipset drivers, that'll install the PCI drivers
(always install chipset drivers before Graphic drivers, this will prevent the issues of incompatible nvcplui.exe as the one in the video drivers is almost always more uptodate then the chipset one.)

for the Vista compatibility message, use WinZip to unpack the exe file to a folder, as its just a standard Zip-Executable
