Loading error
Hi all, not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes - i've just switched from nvidea to a Radeon x850xt pe, I've followed all the advice about deleting nvidea drivers, then running drivercleaner etc, done all that ok, currently running Radeon drivers ver7.1, on vista. Everything seems well, apart from one small niggle, when I first turn on I get the following message:
error loading c:\windows\system32\nvsvc.dll the specified module could not be found
am I right in assuming it is some remnant of an nvidea file, or is it something entirely different, but more to the point, how do I get rid of it?.

I did an uninstall from the add/remove programs, then I ran Driver Cleaner with the nvidea filter on, turned off removed old graphics card, replaced with ATI x850xt pe restarted loaded cat drivers 7.1, although the errer message was there when I did a reboot after uninstalling the old drivers - before I put the new card & drivers in. hope that makes it a bit clearer.

Yeah, that looks like an old nvidia file. There's probably some script loading on login that wants to try to find that file. I wouldn't worry too much about it, though, but look through your startup items and see if you can find whatever it is that is calling on that file.

Did you run driver cleaner in safe mode?

that file is actually part of the nvidia driver service, which means it hasn't been removed properly.
easist way to fix this, is to reinstall the old card, and reinstall the drivers.
then uninstall them again.
