With the modded inf they seem to work fine on anything but AGP cards.

The people who released it and wrote the INF file are at www.laptopvideo2go.com. They probably know more about the driver than anyone else at this point and may be able to troubleshoot some AGP problems.

Not likely, Nvidia has a LONG history of leaked drivers. I think they use us as unofficial beta testers.

Thats because they are for the 8800 series of cards. There is no such thing as an AGP 8800

i don't think thats it at all.
i think to achieve the best performance on vista, AGP support has been scrapped as it creates software overheads...

ROFLMAO thats the funniest thing Ive heard all day, thanks for putting a smile on my face. Too think I thought X Files had finished years ago. I've been running Vista on my agp system for months and months as have thousands of other people. The guy I gave the system too uses Vista on a daily basis.
The 8800 series of cards use a complete seperate set of drivers from the regular sets be it on XP or Vista, it's no surprise these don't work on a agp card.

if you'd followed the thread, i was referring to the G80 drivers having the AGP compatibility removed for maximum performance.

true, but i was referring to these drivers specifically. NVIDIA had wanted to keep a tight lip about these drivers until after Vista was to be released.

AGP doesn't create any more of a software overhead than PCI-Ex
It's DX that creates the overhead - something they're trying to eleviate as much as possible with DX10

Nope - they weren't removed.
They were never put in there in the first place - the drivers are designed specifically for the 8800 series cards from the ground up - and there's no 8800 agp so they didn't write anything to do with agp for them!
That is to say unless they do release some AGP version further down the line.

well actually, its been known for some time that the AGP component of the drivers is causing them not to work full speed on PCI-E interfaces.
removal of the AGP interface support will allow them the improve PCI-E performance.

HI all, yeah i tried out the drivers, they Identified 1 card and had SLi options (On and Off), but when turning on the SLi it required a reboot. then when i returned the SLi was off. I believe it was on installing 1 card. I installed Rivatuner to turn my fans up some and it had no controls for the fans as when i am in XP. so maybe rivatuner isn't vista compatible. There is a lot of software that will have to be vista ready for a lot of us "hardcore" tweakers, or we will be xp bound lol. sorry if i wondered off and changed the topic lol

Im running Vista and these drivers atm, very basic as you expect. Cant change digital vibrance or sharpen. And one thing ive noticed when playing CoD2 in multiplayer in dx9, its really dosent like it, all the walls are gone, the player models are gone, the only thing you see is bluesky lol. you can shoot tho . I play the game in dx7 mode anywys but would like to know if anyone else has this problem or its just me.
