Regarding no support for TI 4 and lower in Vista
Changes have been made to Direct3D in Vista, which have DirectX 7 and 8 code, converted to Dx 9 code, this means that unfortunately, you will not be able to use Dx7 or 8 cards on Vista to play DirectX 7 or 8 games.
While you will be able to get the basic Vista interface working (no aero), no games will work on these cards because they are do not support Dx9.
This is why the Vista drivers out currently do not support anything lower then the FX series.
for anyone who doesn't get what im saying.
Fixed Function DirectX7 code, and non programmable Dx8 shaders are now being converted to Programmable Dx9 Shaders, so your Fixed Function Dx7, and Non Programmabl Shader Dx8 cards will not work.
this is nothing that can be changed by Nvidia... take it up with microsoft.
i woukld just like to point out that using a modified inf made by mobile_nvidia (who is a fool) will not work around this issue, as i have seen users whining that thier under spec dx8 or dx7 card still won't play games.
as i said,.. take i up with Microsoft,.. nvidia can't fix what microsoft has killed.
