Physics accelerator to arrive soon...
You think a gaming PC as reach the nirvana with current video card ? think twice ...
A new product will got on the shelf soon : a physic accelerator. This new add-on card will permit very detailed lifelike animation, including object collisions, particle effects, animated bones in character and more ... The new chip is named PhysX should get 128-256MB GDDR3 memory and should be available in PCI-X and PCI version. The company behind it is called Ageia ( www.ageia.com ) and reportedly signed over 15 devleoppment teams including EPIC Games, this technology should be used in their Unreal3 engine ... it is expected to reach the store laster 2005 quarter for hollydays season .. stay tuned and save your hard earned $$$ because this new technology wont be free for sure ... cant wait to grab one of those ! well i did a search on forum "physic accelerator" prior to post and it found nothing... still many ppes out there might have missed the news ... as i did
