Audio from GPU ?
looks like the proccesing power of modern GPU's are good for other thing then just visual power:

Hawk, I saw this too... Finally somebody is really startin to use their noggin...lol what a great Idea especially after pci-x becomes standard! Now if you have a sli configured system your audio power would be truly sick! lol

the audio spectrum can be fully taken advantage of when moving them across a color spectrum....

i'm not completely sure about some things though.... but i think it'll be something worth looking into

hexk if this will work i wonder if i could pop in e geforce fx 5200 an that be my sound card while me radeon 9800xt be my graphics card.if it work it would be perfect because my geforce fx is pci

i just hope that someone picks up the ball real quick... because creative isn't provideing.... and no one else is trying to fight em... the current audio market is mostly stagnet

if VIA would release another Envy chip with DS acceleration, and a major cardmaker used it, it would be game on.
and of course Nvidia has their soundstorm which they don't seem to feel like ever releasing to card makers. all it needs is good DAC's and that would be another contender.
