No midi at all

I have linked a korg N5 kbd to the joystick/midi on a sb audigy. No matter what I do I cannot get any midi control of the creative virtual keyboard, as suggested on the creative site. It works internally ok but not from the korg. I am about to install the kx drivers to see if they work.
I dont know where to start with this and thought I should not move on to my apps until the midi problem is sorted.
Any guidance would be most appreciated.
Ian

I have now un-installed the creative drivers and sware and installed the kx drivers, followed the advice given selecting kx uart sb0092 10k2 [cc00] as input port and the kx synth sb0092 10k2[cc00] as output. Still nothing at all. The midi-ox pc keyboard works ok but not my korg. Is there anything else I could try before changing the midi/joystick port cable? Cos at this stage I have no idea whether this is a hardware or software problem.
Thanks

This suggestion will only be of any use to you if you have a sequencer like Cubase. I had a situation where I thought (wrongly as it turned out) that either my MIDI keyboard wasn't working correctly or there was something wrong with my MIDI setup. I confirmed that there wasn't by opening up Cubase, selecting a MIDI track and pressing some keys on the keyboard. In Cubase VST the onboard sounds on the keyboard were triggered and in Cubase SX I could see some activity on the metre levels. Hope this is of some help; sorry if it isn't!

Is there any incoming message in MIDI-OX? All ports open? Cables on the keyboard reversed?

Thanks. Using Cakewalk hOme Studio I now have midi output to the keyboard (I can play a cakewalk midi project) but no input from the key board is evident in midi-ox or recorded into a cakewalk midi track. Funny thing is midi0x still shows nothing and when it stars up it reports Kx-uart sb0092 10k2[cc00]:Undefined external error.
I am using Kx-uart sb0092 10k2[cc00] for both input and output - Is this correct?

Yes, correct, but you canīt use the same port twice, so if opened in cakewalk, you cant use it in MidiOx and vice versa. Close all other applications and try whether MidiOx recognizes the data or not. Double check for opened port in MidiOx. If it works, then close MidiOx and open cakewalk, open the port for the needed track and try to record there. If nothing works, then the cable may be damaged or not functional. To hear Midi-sounds on the computer, donīt forget to load a soundfont or a virtual syntheziser that is able to play via Midi.
