AMD, VIA, crackly MIDI.

Q: My MIDI playback is crackling no matter what SoundFont I use - what should I do? I have VIA chipset and AMD processor.
A: If you are using any cooling software like VCool, CPUCool, CPUIdle, etc you need to disable it(in VCool you need to disable NB Cool Bit, in CPUIdle disable 'AMD hardware-specific' options).

Looks like my case: Athlon1533, VIA KT266. Except for I'm not using any of listed programs. What else could that be?

More into detail: when playing a midi/gtp file, kX analyzer shows tops of bars quickly "turn to black" from left to right as notes pass: here. After all channels become "corrupted", every sound that comes from soundcard becomes cracky as hell. And that includes mp3's and system messages as well. Then the only way to fix it is to reboot the computer.

Any chance to have proper MIDI playback on given machine?
