Quiet Bass Drum

After much deliberation I've finally managed to record my MIDI drum track onto an audio track. Unfortunately the bass drum is much quieter than it was on the MIDI track. I've tried recording the bass drum separately but I still have the same problem when it transfers to audio. Any ideas?

Maddogg6 will become famous soon enough

Assuming your base drum is from A SF2 that kX Synths (via kX Synth MIDI out port) is playing....

With default kX DSP config - you need to adjust SYNTH record levels... kX XMIxer - RECORD page - third slider from top left.

Then there is the MASTER RECORD level - same mixer page - top left.

Custom DSP will change what you need to do.

Also, if your monitoring the bass drum through kX effects (like the chorus, CC#93 in particular) - but not recording that chorus effect - can make a recording 'sound' lower in level than when monitoring the original playback.
edit: also - surrounder settings, as well as EQ (like the 10band in default A2 DSP config, or the 'Timbre' as used in 10K1 default DSP config) - will change only the MONITORED audio - and will not be recorded /edit.

Maddogg6, thanks very much for this. You're right about the bass drum being from SF2 via kx synth MIDI port. I'll check all your suggestions this evening. Thanks again.
